Lyn welcomes the launch of the London-wide nhSOS campaign | |
Lyn Brown MP has welcomed the launch of the nhSOS campaign by London Mayoral candidate Ken Livingstone. The campaign aims to recognise and co-ordinate local action against the Tory-Led Government’s radical proposals to reform the NHS. With planned closures to A & E, maternity and other vital NHS services across the Capital, the nhSOS campaign will highlight to the Coalition Government that these closures are not what Londoners want to see happening to their NHS. Already, hundreds of people have signed the nhSOS campaigns petition. This petition is available for the public to sign at www.nhsos.org. Lyn Brown said: “I fully support the campaign which will send a clear message to the Government that these bureaucratic and short-sighted proposals are not what people want to see happening to their local NHS services. I believe that my constituents deserve top quality healthcare and this cannot be achieved by breaking up, selling off or privatising the NHS. Everyday thousands of Londoners rely on the NHS to provide the high quality free healthcare that we currently enjoy, A & E services that offer a vital safeguard to emergencies that befall us and indispensible social care that helps protect some of the most vulnerable members of our society. Make no mistake about it, The Health and Social Care Bill is a hazardous market experiment that will jeopardise the safety and wellbeing of all people across London.”
