Lyn Brown Motivates Pupils To Get Political

Lyn Brown MP met with 32 students from the Newham school, Imam Zakariya Academy last Tuesday in Parliament. On their first trip up to Westminster the group of pupils, aged between 7 and 11 years, were given a tour around Parliament which included both the House of Commons and House of Lords.

Following the tour, they met with their Member of Parliament to learn about what life as a politician was like and were given the opportunity to put their questions to Lyn Brown.

 Lyn Brown MP said:

"I was delighted to meet with pupils from the Imam Zakariya Academy and was highly impressed with their enthusiasm. I think it’s very important for young people to learn about how politics works and get the chance to have their say on issues they care about.

I know from my experience of working with many young people in West Ham that they make valuable contributions to their communities and have a key role in shaping politics around them.”
