Lyn Brown MP Attends Fund–Raising Bazaar in Aid of Gaza Appeal
On Saturday 7th February Lyn attended a bazaar to raise funds for the humanitarian relief in Gaza at the Trinity Community Centre in East Ham.
The bazaar was a very well attended event, organised by women members of the local Indian Muslim Federation, with a variety of different stalls selling a variety of wares, from clothing to popcorn and home baked cakes. All were visited by Lyn Brown and all were making a contribution to the Gazan relief fund. Lyn made a number of purchases including a bag of popcorn and pink sparkly shoes for her niece.
Lyn said “It was a very impressive event, organised in a relatively short space of time. I want to congratulate all involved. I know they had their heart set on making a very large amount of money from the event and I hope they have come very close to reaching their target. Gaza is not in the news as much now as it was a few weeks ago, but the humanitarian crisis continues with over half of Gaza’s population dependent upon food aid. Israel must keep the borders open and allow the much needed aid to flow into the country; the lives of many depend upon it. I will be attending other fundraisers over the next couple of weeks.
