Lyn Brown at St Luke's Christingle

West Ham MP, Lyn Brown, attended a special Christingle assembly at St. Luke's Primary School on Thursday 18 December. The service, led by Father Day, was enjoyed by pupils, parents and staff.

At the assembly Lyn Brown was presented with Christmas cards and an anthology of poems designed and written by pupils. On receiving them Lyn chose a card designed by a year 5 pupil to send to the Prime Minister to wish him a Merry Christmas.

Head teacher Theresa Aanonson said:

“It was great that Lyn Brown MP was able to attend and join with the pupils and staff at St Luke's Primary School. I look forward to the Christingle service every year. It’s a very special service and when the candles are lit it helps us to concentrate on Jesus as the light of the world”.

“I was delighted to be invited to take part in this wonderful assembly at St. Luke's School. I was touched by the cards and the poems given to me by the pupils, it is clear that they worked very hard on them. I pay tribute to the staff at St Luke's for their hard work all year round. I had a really lovely time today and service was a great start to my Christmas.”
