West Ham MP Lyn Brown congratulated Newham Foot Care Clinic on being named one of the best in the country by national auditors.

The National Diabetes Audit placed the clinic amongst the top 25 performing practices in the country after its high performance in reducing the amount of minor or major amputations needed. When compared with the worst-performing areas, Newham patients were eight times less likely to require an amputation.

Lyn said: “The achievements of the clinic, which combines expertise with a focus on individual need, reflects the dedication shown by most of our health workers. I continue to be impressed with the clinic’s multi-disciplinary approach which involves surgeons, practitioners, nurses and patients in specially-devised care programmes.”
