Trust betrayed on NHS

Personally, and politically, this year has been dominated by the NHS.
After my fall down some stairs, the NHS put me back together again, managing my pain and recovery with efficiency and consideration.

To the great people and exceptionally skilled surgeons of the NHS, I extend my sincere gratitude.  Thanks to them, the movement in my arm far surpasses original expectations.

My prognosis is good.  Tragically, the same cannot be said for the NHS.
Dodgy Dave Cameron ‘promised’ no “top-down” re-organisation of the NHS.  He ‘promised’ he wouldn’t cut it, either.  Sadly for the NHS, and for us all, both ‘promises’ have been broken.

Last week, the Tory-led Government forced through its Health Bill, disregarding advice from medical leaders and healthcare professionals.
The Royal College of Nursing and The Royal College of GPs, naming but two, opposed the Bill, knowing the changes will damage the NHS, be costly and bureaucratic.

The Government tried to stifle bad headlines, and the calls from doctors and nurses to abandon their plans.  They dodged debate and wanted their awful Bill passed, regardless.

And passed it was.

This top-down re-organisation benefits private companies, not the NHS.  The reforms are expensive, providing profit, not care.  Waiting times will rise and many fear the breakup of the NHS.

£20bn is planned to be cut from the NHS, this Government calls it efficiency savings.  £850m goes on redundancy payments alone.  The re-organisation will cost £2bn on top.

The only winners are private companies.

Despite the outrageous posturing by perfidious LibDems, they supported this Bill.  Only four voted against.  Listening to their empty words over recent months, who’d have believed that?

Dodgy Dave and Calamitous Clegg have betrayed the Nations trust on the NHS.
